It is very pleased to announce that International
Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) will launch the PhD programme in Islamic
Banking and Finance by Research in December 2005. There will be 2
intakes a year in June and December. Those who are interested can request
for application forms, brochures etc. All interested applicants are expected to
prepare and submit a Research Proposal for evaluation.
The research priority areas are as follows:
- Fiqh Muamalat
- Islamic banking law
- Performance and efficiency of Islamic banks and
takaful
- Economic and policy analysis of Islamic banking
and finance
- Accounting for Islamic financial
institutions
- Islamic financial and property
management
- Islamic capital market
- Takaful and re-takaful
- Islamic micro-credit and
micro-financing
- Corporate and Shari'ah governance of Islamic
financial institutions
