Bismillah, As Salaam Alaikum
Masjid Sabiqun in Baton Rouge was the first entity to open its doors as a shelter for evacuating families from New Orleans. Now its priority is moving the families it is sheltering into permanent homes. The Masjid has teams going out daily, finding and securing available housing and them moving families from the shelter into these homes.
This is a cash intensive process that requires paying the securiity deposit and first and last month rents up front. Additional transportation expenses, including airline tickets are purchaced for families moving outside of Baton Rouge.
This photo essay shows clearly why Masjid Sabiqun has earned and deserves your monetary contribution to help them continue to help those in dire need.
