They are particularly interested in meeting with the African American community in the Dallas area. Consequently, we have asked to host their visit at Masjid Al-Islam, 2604 S. Harwood Street 75215.

Although our facility is to serve as the host site, the event is open to all. The four Malian leaders on this project do not speak English, but will be accompanied by two interpreters to facilitate dialogue and logistics. The delegates are official State Department guests, participating in the “International Visitor Leadership Program,” which fosters mutual understanding through professional and cultural exchange. The names of our brothers and guests are listed below:

Br. Oumar Barro – Director, Mosque in Legal-Segou (Kayes)

Br. Aboubacar Camara – Director, Madrasa Mahd Al Ouloum

Br. Dramane Moulaye Haidara – Deputy Imam, Mosque of Sarakeina (Timbuktu)

Br. Souaibou Sanogo – Imam, Mosque of Lafiabougou (Sikasso)

Br. Mohammed Smadi – Interpreter

Br. Raad Fanari – Interpreter

Ms. Lesley Newton, Sending Agency Program Officer

Ms. Nancy Tourk – Dallas Host and Intern Program Director

Please consider this a personal invitation to you and all members of your community to visit and fellowship with our brothers visiting us from Mali. Our guests are scheduled to arrive at the Masjid at 6:00pm Monday, October 10, 2005 and will be visiting for approximately two or three hours. Since this is Ramadan, we will be having Iftar and Tarweah prayers at the Masjid as well. We are requesting that everyone bring a dish (potluck) as well.

Please feel free to contact Imam Khalid Shaheed (972) 230-6482, Sr. Mahasin Hazziez (214) 428-4837 or myself (214) 476-7234 [EMAIL PROTECTED] should you have any additional questions. Your cooperation and participation is greatly appreciated. Jazzak Allah Khairun. As Salaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatoh.

{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}
(Holy Quran-16:125)

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
