Bismillah, FYI

As salamu alaykum,
Something to think about:

Funny how we set our clocks to rise at 7:00 am or 8:00am to be at our jobs by 9:00 am, but we can't get to the Masjid for Fajr to praise the one who gave us that job!

Funny how we call the Sahaabah and Tabi'een our righteous ancestors and the Muslims our brothers, but we find it hard to introduce them to our family and colleagues.

Funny how small our sins seem, but how big other people's sins are.

Funny how we demand punishment for others, but expect Mercy from Allah.

Funny how much difficulty some have learning the Quran well enough to teach others, but how simple it is to understand, memorize and explain the latest gossip about someone else.

Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we make du'a, but find no difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.

Funny how we are so quick to take directions when we are lost from a total stranger, but are hesitant to take Allah's direction in our journey through life.

Funny how people want Allah to answer their du'a, but refuse themselves to listen to His counsel.

Funny how some people pray for Jannah, but only live for today.

Funny how it is okay for some people to blame Allah for evil and suffering in the world, but it is not necessary to thank Him for what is good and pleasant.

Funny how when something goes wrong, we cry, "Yaa Allah! Why me?" But when something goes right, we think, "Hey, it must be me!"

Oh wait…maybe all this isn't so `funny' after all.

Funny how we benefit from some emails and don't take the time to share it with our brothers and sisters.

It is not worthy to be happy about  praise, unless that praise came from Allah and it is not worthy to be ashamed, or embarrassed about something unless it is shameful and embarrassing before Allah. You should only care about what Allah knows about you and not what anyone else thinks. If Allah is pleased with you, you don't need anyone else's approval.

If you have sincere desire, you will find a thousand ways to do it and if you are not sincere, you will find a thousand excuses.

{Invite (mankind, O Muhammad ) to the Way of your Lord (i.e. Islam) with wisdom (i.e. with the Divine Inspiration and the Qur'an) and fair preaching, and argue with them in a way that is better. Truly, your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His Path, and He is the Best Aware of those who are guided.}
(Holy Quran-16:125)

{And who is better in speech than he who [says: "My Lord is Allah (believes in His Oneness)," and then stands straight (acts upon His Order), and] invites (men) to Allah's (Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds, and says: "I am one of the Muslims."} (Holy Quran-41:33)

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Allah, if Allah guides one person by you, it is better for you than the best types of camels." [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim]

The prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)  also said, "Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to the reward of the one who follows him, without the reward of either of them being lessened at all."
[Muslim, Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, an-Nasaa'ee, at-Tirmidhee, Ibn Maajah]
