Many thanks for this idea. It has been tried two years ago with some great success. The UKIM in Keighley publicly invited the BNP members to their mosque open day. Many BNP members did attend, and this attracted huge media attention as well. Overall it was very positive for the Muslims.
 
So I would say go ahead if you have the guts (as I used to say when I was a child) - which I know you have (especially if you live in Glasgow). Hold programmes inviting the BNP to come and know more about this great person they hate so much because of their ignorance. The media will surround you like bees.
 
Dear brothers and sisters - we have no option but to intensify our engagement with the wider public. We must try to go out to non-Muslims and especially in new, fresh areas - away from Muslim dominated inner city areas. My feeling is that there is a great interest out there in knowing more about Islam - we need to develop links and relationships with REAL people - not only those sitting in Downing Street, the  Parliament or the Civil servants. The real people in my experience are more responsive to well a delivered message - this includes the BNP
 
By fresh areas I also mean outside and away from established towns and cities - to remote village areas of the UK - like Lincolnshire (which you all remember). I have personally been invited to give talks on Islam in four villages in Shropshire over the last two years. Most of these talks have been in pubs to 100% non-Muslim audience - with an average attendance of 80-100 people. Most of these people only see Muslims on the TV. I am invited to another village at the end of March. The sheer number of questions people want to ask - shows how thirsty they are to know more about Islam and why Muslims do certain things.
 
Our beloved Prophet and Islam has been and is being insulted. The least we can do is to introduce the life and work of this great Messenger of the one God to all people in our society. There are already a number of organisations thinking of organising intensive two-year campaign to introduce our Prophet, his character and teachings to the British public.
 
You lead and I will follow.

I think more importantly let us engage with the BNP in dialogue as Musa (AS) was instructed to see Pharaoh!
 
The BNP are people with limited knowledge. I think once you meet them and show the beauty of the Deen- it will open dialogue etc.
 
Go for it- it is bit more radical than the usual demos and flag burning!
 
We need more of www.iaw.org.uk and www.meem.biz and speak to the community.

PS: my alternative response: let us get more genuinly and long-term engaged in mainstream society and issues that affect us all. Non-Muslims will then see in our actions (not only our words) what Islam is all about. No BNP, Ku Klux Klan or anybody can then convince non-Muslims that we are anything to be afraid of...
