Respected Brothers and Sisters,   The way I look to the controversy between the USA and Iran. The same way world should judge the issue or as the former President Carter has adjudged it. Shukrun.   Shamim Siddiqi   In the Name of Allah, the Magnificent, the Merciful   USA HAS NO CASE AGAINST IRAN   [Shamim A Siddiqi, New York]   Time and again the USA and its European allies, UK. France and Germany have been pressing hard that Iran should and must give up its ambition to become a nuclear power. They have been and are enticing Iran to accept their condition in lieu of some monitory gains, some diplomatic and trade facilities but all attempts have failed along with the current one which categorically promises to have direct negotiations with Iran, if it renounces the continuation of enriching uranium for atomic fuel. The causes of failure of all previous dialogues and Iran’s insistence to carry out its experimental designs are moral not material. The USA and its European partners have to accept their shortcomings as they are at the lowest strata of moral ground whereas Iran stands at its highest pedestal. In that situation, why Iran could not “submit” to threats and intimidations of the Euro-American nuclear forces in terms of the call given by the US Secretary of State, Dr Rice can be understood for the reasons as illustrated onward.   It looks very odd rather strange that in the light of massive nuclear power that these countries hold by themselves, on what moral authority they can ask other “small” countries not to have it or even try to have it for peaceful purposes? When they are constantly developing their atomic arsenal technically for better performance, allowing all facilities to India to develop its atomic weapons capacity at will, conniving with Israel to hold its “WMD” unto its “little” neck, maintaining the attitude of “sidetracking” with other aspiring countries like North Korea and Brazil, what justification they have in asking Iran to give up its “national” aspiration on “flimsy” grounds that are advanced by the advocates of Nonproliferation Treaty. If they cannot trust Iran, an ideological state that stands for “justice to all” and “fighting” for human rights at every stage, how can they or the so-called mono-superpower be trusted even to hold big nuclear arsenal that can destroy the entire human civilization within a twinkling of an eye, especially when it is “conspiring” to control the domination of this world on the pretext of the “Clash of Civilization” by hook or by crook?   In this respect, the role of the International Atomic Agency is more dubious than that of the “big five” who constitute the so-called Nuclear Club. This Agency is authorized to control and look after the spread of nuclear arsenal around the world. It has two clear job assignments to fulfill and it had failed to do either.   1. Its first job was and is to decrease and gradually eliminate the stock pile of atomic arsenals that are under the possession of the USA, UK, France, China and Russia. More than twenty five years have passed since its inception but it could not “force” any of the five atomic giants to reduce their stock pile.                2. It was its responsibility to stop the spread of atomic weapons further in the world. Unfortunately, it also failed and failed bitterly in this assignment too. Israel became an atomic power with the connivance of the USA under its very nose. India and Pakistan became the “legitimate” member of Nuclear Club but it remained only as a silent spectator.   In fact, the Agency has lost its moral ground to exist anymore except to add some nuisance value to perpetuate its existence and that is being exploited by the Euro-American forces against Iran, NK and other small countries. The Noble Peace price given to its head does not suit him at all.  Perhaps this Institution is “maintained” to harass the Muslim world if ever it tries truthfully to acquire nuclear power as in the case of Iran. The SG, Koofi Annan appears to be a party of this game too.   It must be clear to all of us, at this stage, that acquiring the knowledge and the process of          its accomplishment, is the inherent right of all the human beings both in their individual and collective capacities to make every effort in that direction for the betterment of human life. Nuclear Physique is surrounded by the laws of nature, is spread all over this cosmos and is free for all to discover and harness it for the benefit of mankind. Germans discovered and developed this monstrous force of energy and the USA practically “stole” it by abducting the nuclear scientists from Germany, produced the first two atom bombs with their help, used them as the first country and totally destroyed the peaceful cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima for good.  It has, thus, no right to stop others not to have it. If it is desirous that none should have it, it should destroy first its own atomic arsenal and convince other atomic powers to do the same before it tells Iran or any other country not to have it.    The foregoing discussion clearly convinces that the USA has no case against Iran and all its “bullying” tactics, war of threats and intimidation and ruthless propaganda campaign day in and day out are exposing the weaknesses of our foreign policy.  It is belittling the position of the USA in the eyes of our contemporary world, especially in the Middle East. Just the other day, Former President Jimmy Carter has rightly expressed his concern and has categorically asked the government of the USA to inter into dialogue unconditionally with Iran. The treacherous game plan of the USA against the established governments of Iran for the last twenty five years is now a part of history. The Iranian people are not going to forget it. Becoming nuclear “power” has become their national aspiration, a strength that is hard to break or purchase. The USA should accept the genuine advice of President Carter and sit round the table with Iran as the USA has already lost its case against Tehran.
