"terror" plot could have been working for MI5. British intelligence may have
succeeded in recruiting the bookshop owner and at least some of his contacts.
Indeed it is unlikely that a plot of this particular nature would normally be

to them in their daily lives. ("Terrorism" must be the most important issue,
because it's in the news more than anything else, right?) In reality, an
American is much, much, much more likely to be struck by lightening than killed
by a "terrorist". But they are surrounded by other very real preventable
dangers, like road traffic accidents, obesity, heart disease, street
crime, AIDS, etc.
