Assalamu' alaikum Wa Rahmatullah e Wa Barakatuhu,

1.          :  What is Zakat ?

:  Zakat is a portion of one's welath that must be given to the
poor or to other specified causes. The word Zakat comes from the verb meaning
to purify and cleanse. It is the Third Pillar of Islam and is Obligatory for
all those who are financially able.

2.         :  Those who pay Zakat.

:  Truly those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and
perform prayers, and give Zakat they will have their reward with their Lord. On
them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
(Reference Surah no. 2 Al-Baqarah Verse no. 277)

3.         :  Those who not pay Zakat.

:  On the Day when that money, gold, silver the Zakat of which has
not been paid will be heated in the Fire of Hell and with it will be branded
their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, and it will be said unto them,
This is the treasure which you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste of what you
used to hoard.
(Reference Surah no.9 At-Taubah Verse no. 35).
