Qazi happy on CJ's restoration but says real destination not
achieved

LAHORE, Mar 16: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has expressed
satisfaction and happiness on the restoration of Chief Justice Iftikhar
Mohammad Chaudhry and other judges deposed by Gen Musharraf, but said
that the real destination of our movement is still not achieved.

Addressing a large crowd of party workers and public at Aabpara,
Islamabad, on Monday, Qazi termed the restoration of judges as a
positive step but said that the real objective of this movement,
reversal of the whole step of Gen Musharraf on Nov. 3, '07, is not yet
achieved. He said we have accepted this restoration after Chief Justice
Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had accepted it.

Qazi said he came to Islamabad with the firm commitment to stage sit-in
till the complete restoration of the entire judiciary as of Nov. 2, '07,
and installation of an Islamic revolution.

He congratulated the JI workers for their remarkable struggle for
restoration of independent judiciary, and said it was the feat of JI
workers that they were the first to come out to break police cordon in
Lahore to lead the long march, and all others followed them.

Qazi said after today's achievement some will get provincial governments
while some others will have ministries, but JI workers has waged this
struggle only for the pleasure of Almighty Allah and they can even lay
down their lives for that.

Qazi demanded trial of Gen Musharraf for treason and said now there are
several tough challenges facing Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry like
recovery of missing persons, punishment of those responsible for Jamia
Hafsa massacre of innocent girls, May 12 killings in Karachi and
recovery of plundered public wealth which was pardoned under NRO. Qazi
warned that under no law president Asif Zardari could be allowed to get
away with the billions of rupees of public money.

Qazi said chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry has to decide whether he
considers Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as constitutional chief justice or
not, or if he could deliver justice by sitting among the majority of
jiala judges belonging to PPP.
