Hello, I'm having some trouble with running out of file descriptors on a slackware-8.1 (2.4.18) box running squid-2.5.stable1.
I've tried setting SQUID_MAXFD in the squid configure script, OPEN_MAX in /usr/include/linux/limits.h and /proc/sys/fs/file-max to 65536, but after making clean and recompiling squid I still see it starting with only 1024 file descriptors available. Does anyone know another way of increasing the number of file descriptors?
