Dear Friends
Though I hate to write on this mailing list but let me put the record
straight;
1. A General Body Meeting on Royalty was called by ISPAK in Karachi.
2. Members present in that meeting collectively decided that they want
highest level of representation and as such a committee was constituted
by that General Body which comprises of following
PRESIDENT ISPAK
V.P North
V.P South
The committee earlier formed by Mr. Bhutta thus stood null and void.
3. RIGHTLY or WRONGLY but it was collectively decided by all present in
meeting that;
(a) We wanted a final resolution to Royalty Issue as most of us felt
that it is a sword hanging on our heads with undecided faith.
(b) A 1% royalty figure mandate was given to the Committee.
(c) At all cost we wanted a resolution.
Here I would also like to put it on record that Mr. Bhutta was not very
willing to go to Islamabad for this meeting but again all present forced
him to lead the Group.
4. The Committee came back with 1.5% Royalty i.e. 0.5% higher than the
mandate given BUT later on they were able to persuade the concerned
quarters to consider reduction of PTCL dues...... This reduction may
tends amount to almost less than 1% of net Royalty (our earlier mandate
to the Committee).
5. Nobody, HAD, CAN or WILL be able to take away the constitutional
right of any person who decided the legal course of action...........
NOW WHAT IS THE DISPUTE ?
6. To me the ugly situation of rift in ISPAK was not ROYALTY but the
mare fact that fewer of us just want a critics on others, I felt deeply
hurt when I saw the mail by one of our dear colleague hurting again
while the other member trying to apologize for nothing done on his part.
7. Atleast I for one would not like to see Arshad Jalil taking the blame
of something he never did.
Best Regards
Naveed A Khan
