Ignore the README file in ISS 6.0.1.0, install a clean version of NT 4.0
Workstation, install Service Pack 4, all the postsp4hotfixes, including
roll-up, roll-up incorporates some of the previously released sp4
hotfixes, now classified as archived hotfixes by Microsoft. Install Sp5,
then the recommended postsp5hotfixes.

Install 6.0.1.0 successfully, install sp6, postsp6hotfixes, sp6a. The
scanner will function correctly. Some of the checks may not work as Ted
mentions, but if one scans localhost, the scanner also does not report
that one has loaded sp6a since ISS 6.0.1.0 was released prior to sp6a
being released :( Also some of the recommendations presented for a
particular finding was developed prior to sp6 and sp6a release. The
X-press Update will correct the checks not working correctly, but I do not
know from my knowledge of how X-press Updates whether ISS can also update
the recommendations, I think it would be possible since it would bu
updating a .mdb file, but that would be another point to ponder..

ISS 6.0.1.0 is incompatible with Windows 2000 Professional Beta 3, due to
.dlls being moved around and other things that Microsoft arbitrarily
changes during their infinite number of releases, patches, etc and fails
to inform developers.. :)

There is a problem with Internet Scanner running on NT4/SP6 or Windows
2000
gold, where several checks do not run correctly. We are working on an
X-Press Update that will resolve this. We expect to release the X-Press
Update tomorrow.
