Hi Ihsan,
Not a dumb question at all. Actually, the licensing is much easier than any
of your guesses. We license by the quantity of detectors and you get as many
NT consoles as you want at no extra charge. There is no tie to IP address of
the detector, all you need to worry about is how many of each type of
detector you have (x number of system agents and x number of engines). It
may be confusing to you because we have you put the license key file on the
console, even though we license by detectors. We do this because it's much
easier to put the file on the console than on each of your detectors since
you are likely to have many more detectors than consoles.
The only exception to this is if you purchase the HP OpenView or Tivoli
management console options...those must also be specified in the license
key.
hope this helps,
sheila

Hello,
Sorry, for my being dumbness...:
How is the RealSecure Licensing Scheme?
Do we need a seperate license for console and network engine? When the RS
console is installed on a machine, it automatically issues a license for
127.0.0.1 with properties( R, A, P) RS Network Engine, RS System Agent and
PLI. However, you do not need to run RS Network Engine on the same machine.
Well, if you split the Network enginee and console, you need 2 license,
don't you?
Note: I install the evaluation version, does it matter?
Are the licenses issued for only console, which means if you have 4
RealSecure network enginees running, 4 console licenses are
issued?(Likewise get a 4 license for the address of 127.0.0.1, and manage 4
network engines)
Are network enginee's IP addresses important on the licenses: like if you
have a network engine with 4 interfaces and IP addresses, you can change
the network interface running RealSecure whenever you want, so you listen
any DMZs or networks connected.
Is there a limit(need license) of consoles running on the network?
Regards.
