Oops, I apologize for the last statement in my last response.

The previous version of System Scanner supported various UNIX and Windows
platforms, When System Scanner 4.0 was first released last fall, this was
the first full new release of the product. ISS System Scanner 4.0 agents
at first only supported the Windows platform, and ISS has since released
the long-awaited updated Solaris agents. As the product matures, more and
more agent platforms will be available for ISS System Scanner 4.0 and
updated documentation.

As the whole ISS product line matures, customers will be seeing a
significant improvement in all the product lines as each of the product
lines will be tightly integrated into an Entrprise Management Console
Control capable of supporting multiple ISS consoles/engines and agents
from the various products.

So subscribers stay tuned as ISS will be definitely bringing to market new
and improved releases that will leave their competitors quaking.. :)

Hopefully the above plug will get me back in the graces of ISS Product
managers :)

/cheers

/m

I don't think the last statement is quite fair. We are currently working
on
a RealSecure system agent for HP-UX and IBM AIX. If you check our website,
you'll see that while system scanner may not support OpenVMS (thanks to
Mark
for clarifying that), it does support quite a few other flavors of Unix.

It is true that we generally start with NT and Solaris simply because we
get
the most requests for those two platforms. Then, based on market
requirement, we develop on the most requested platforms. For some
components, like the console, we choose to limit the platforms we support
so
our development time can be devoted to keeping the sensors up to date on
the
various platforms.

Just a few words about our product development philosophy for those who
wonder why we do what we do. Please feel free to send any requests for
your
favorite platform to [EMAIL PROTECTED] We track all requests to that
address and use them as input for future development plans. Just be sure
to
specify what product your request is for.
:)

Sheila is definitely right.

ISS System Scanner 4.0 does not currently support OpenVMS. Axent EMS
product does. It is that ISS mainly focuses on supporting Solaris and NT

Hi...I'm not sure what kind of information you need, but here's a start. I
have limited personal experience with that platform myself, but I
*believe*
our System Scanner supports it. Hopefully someone from the ISS team who is
more familiar with System Scanner will chime in.

Regardless, here are a couple of sites to get you started with information
gathering...good luck.
