Sorry for dropping into this one late...
Rubens is correct in the fix, but there was a typo.
There is a bug in the NT Smartheap and it doesn't like allocating memory
blocks of over 512MB.
When you start RS NE it will reserve 80% of the available system memory for
use by RS NE.
As you have 1GB you will be allocating more than 512MB.
So the trick is to change the preallocated amount to make it less than 512MB.
Edit the current.policy file.
Look for the following section:
[\config\Memory\];
PreAllocateMemory =B 1;
PreAllocationPercent =L 80;
Change the PreAllocationPercent number to a figure that will allocate less
than 512 MB with your currently installed RAM.
One 1GB you will be OK at 40%, but if you have 2GB you would want to use
20, etc.
After the initial allocation of under 512 MB RS can use extra memory as
it's required so the full 1GB will be used if required.
