Hi
I have a query, I was hoping one of you could help me with. It's not really
related to RealSecure or the Internet Scanner (although I like to think the
box is relatively secure:)
I am running a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 5. All
volumes have NTFS. I have installed a third party application (WebTrends
Professional Suite v4.od) that has its own built in scheduler. My problem is
as follows:
1) I set this scheduler to run as a service (not using an account - it needs
to interact with the desktop). I set this up in the WebTrends software.
It is supposed to run say at midnight. When I run the profile manually, it
works perfectly. But when I get to work the next morning, in Event Viewer,
there are as many failure audits as there are schedules with the SYSTEM
account.
2) I have tried running it as a service with a username and password with
the necessary user rights (Log on as a service, act as part of the operating
system and Log on locally). This didn't work though.
3) I have checked the following registry keys for the correct permissions
(SYSTEM = Full Control):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WebTrendsCorporation\
The program is located in
D:\Program Files\WebTrends Suite\
I can find no problem with permissions on the files and subdirectories and
also no problem with registry permissions. I have attached a copy of the
Event Logs of the process it tries to run and the resulting failure audit. I
do not have an account with the username service_password=
Could someone perhaps help me?
Many thanks
Mike
