Your CAT 2924 XL should span the firewall ports, mine do. Most Network Support
folks don't know how to do it from the Cisco command line. Fire up the 2924 XL
Web manager product and have them do it from there.

RealSecure on the Nokia Platform

It does exist Check http://www.nokia.com/securitysolutions/network/iss.html It
is sadly ignored on the ISS site.

You will hear many tales concerning whether it will run with Firewall-1 on the
same box. I "believe" it will, but it will only see one interface last time I
checked. I also believe it is only the external (Internet) interface that it
can see. I would not want to use less than an IP650 with lots of memory if I
"tried" to do this.

Call Nokia and ask them to tell you what they actually support. Ask for the
answer in writing. That will force the issue high enough inside Nokia to get
the right answer.

Cisco's CAT 2924XL switches, using Nokia IP650 firewalls...

Ken, would you expand on the option of running RealSecure on one
interface of the Nokia, as I didn't know anything about that...?

Thanks..

I agree with George with the following exception:
It depends on the manufacturer of the switch. Some switches are a
little
brighter than others.

This type of question needs to include the make and model of the switch
and the
firewall hardware to get a better answer.

There are some other option that are dependant on the hardware
platform. Like:
If the firewall is on a Nokia platform you get the option of running
RealSecure
on one interface of the Nokia.
