Hello,

This is an administrative note from your friendly moderator...

This was an appropriate lead into mentioning a couple of things...

I've now been moderating issforum either as the backup moderator
(almost a year) or the primary moderator (current) for a while now. As
a rule, I am not censoring anything which is on topic and non-inflamatory.
So far, that has meant nothing based on content. Especially if it's
something that someone thinks will get them "censored" but really does a
better job of making themselves out to look silly. Don't look to me
to protect your butts. ;-)

However... Format and size are another matter...

We are currently prohibiting ANYTHING with HTML attachments on
the list. This is due to the propagation of a Javascript worm a while
back. HTML is blocked automatically. I don't even see it.

I noticed that there have been a few messages over the last
two months which did end up in the html trash can (OK, OK, so I do
see them - LATE - I'm still not approving ANY of them). If you didn't
see your message appear on the list, check your HTML settings. Any
HTML attachments and you hit the bitbucket.

Don't ask, this rule will not be changed. I may impliment some
additional filtering to bounce it back to the sender with the reason for
the rejection.

Other attachments which may potentially carry active content and
cybertoxins may be prohibited, without prior warning, at my discretion.

I will occasionally block posts which are excessively large,
but I will deal with the posters on a case by case basis.

Vacation programs and other bounces. You will be removed from
all lists if we get any bounce-back from approved messages or address tests.
If you enable a vacation program make darn well sure that it does NOT
respond to ANYTHING that is "Precedence: bulk" or "Precendence: list"!
If you do, you will be removed by one of our "bots". Again, this happens
automatically as soon as we detect it (some things don't get caught until
the bi-month bot polls your address).

Anything else, please feel free to bring to my attention. :-)

        Ok... Back to routine traffic...

        Mike
