This is terrible!
Has ISS support been advised and are they doing anything about this?
We shouldnt have to go to the effort of writing the whole set of signatures ourselves
other we might as well start using Perl/ Swatch again for systems like AIX and HP-UX.

Hi.
I've implemented a solution with RS OS sensor 5.0 on AIX, and this works fine.
The point is
that the predefined events in the OS sensor (for UNIX syslog) are pretty poor
and meant for
Solaris (probably).
I use a combination of syslog and audit on the AIX servers, and I've written
all events myself in the OS sensor (in User Defined Events) and connected them
to the loggfiles
on AIX (syslog and stream.out). You can trigger on any events written to these
loggfiles, you just have
to tell the OS sensor :)

Hi all,
We recently implement a ISS solution: RealSecure Console 5.0.2000.174 on NT4
SP6a with Network Sensor on NT4 SP6a and OS Sensor on AIX 4.3.3. Connexions are
fine.
Problem is: even if we get connexion established we receive no information in
the console. We tried, for instance to make a wrong longin on AIX machine. The
event is correctly logged in the syslog file locally on AIX. Nothing is then
recieved on the console. currently, even if AIX is supposed to be supprted on
RealSecure, we can't get any information from the OS Sensor on console.
Questions: Does anybody already done that kind of installation with AIX? Is
there anything that we could have missed? Any tips would be welcome.
Thanks and Regards,
