You can also just use User Manager for Domains... just select "User" then
"Select Domain", and put in \\ then the machine name or IP address.
e.g. \\workstation1
so long as you have administrative privileges on the box and netBIOS
connectivity.
To get an administrative level channel set up to the machine, open a command
prompt and enter:
net use \\workstation1\ipc$ /user:workstation1\administrator
you will be then prompted for a password. If you connect successfully, user
manager should work fine. This of course assumes your machine is called
workstation1 and there is an administrative level account called
"administrator".

Ric

Paul,
you might give a shot at this article "How to Manage Your Enterprise's
Passwords the Easy Way
Use Perl for Win32's AdminMisc extension" (InstantDoc ID: 3687) at
http://www.winntmag.com/. Although its from August 1998 its still
applicable.

Has anyone came across a program that allows you to change NT 4.0
Workstation local administrator passwords remotely?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
