Hi Steve,
thanks for the hint that we have to access Oracle via Access (linking the
tables via ODBC).
There are some problems left:
- There are no more reports. (We expected that. We really don't miss them.)
- We see not longer how many records are in the Database. (File -> Maintain
Database)
- We can not update the database any more. (That is a big problem.)
Problem 2 and 3 have the same roots (we think). Oracle don't understand the
auto-increment which Access has.
How did you solved that? Or is there another issue with the log entries?
(Problem 3 is the mission critcal one.)
What had we done so far:
We generated with the Workbench a migration script, let it run against a
newly created database, created a new Access DB with the tables linked via
ODBC and put it in place at the RealSecure home directory. We can save only
1(!) log value in the database.
BTW: We are testing the migration with RealSecure 5.0 with Access 97 under
Win NT and RealSecure 5.5 with Access 2000 under Win 2k.
Thanks in advance
Marc Perisa
PS: We will read the document about SQL Server tomorrow. When we are
finished, we will send a detailed how-to to the list.
