Hi Bjoern, this is indeed an excellent workaround. It applies to NT 4.0 installations as well. Please make sure you got the right MDAC version on your system. Check "Eigenschaften" of the dll. If it´s version 2.5 you are fine. If you got an older version install MDAC 2.5 from the ISS CD first. Please do NOT choose the reboot option after install, as this will fail without your workaround in place. If you got MDAC 2.5 aready installed, you can ignore the message, it is just informational.
