Hi Brian,

thanks for the CLI procedure. However it does not work in my
environment:

E:\MSSQL7\BINN>osql -E
1> use ISSED
2> go
1> iss_purgeevents '1/1/2001 00:00:00','9/30/2001 00:00:00',1000
2> go
Meldung 8114, Ebene 16, Status 4, Server KJLAPTOP, Prozedur
iss_PurgeEvents, Zeile 0
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Fehler beim Konvertieren
von Datentyp varchar in datetime.

comment-1:
the error message (German!) says that it cannot convert the data type in
datetime. Same message appears when issuing the command from the WGM
GUI. WGM is
installed on NT 4.0 SP6a with MS SQL7. All other functions incl DB sync
are just fine and reports
do work. I believe the problem came up because the old RS data have been
loaded into the
database during installation, but this is just a guess. To get rid of
this type of
problem you have to use sql commands rather than stored procedures, e.g.
delete all records from
the associated tables. Could you come up with an howto for this kind of
corrupted data scenario? I
think the ISS Community would be interested in such a procedure as
loaded databases are still an
issue. We already used sql commands in an EM SQL environment for getting
rid of corrupted asset database
(due to "bad installation history"). This did work (SQL is just great).

comment-2:
Bob was faster, thank you! (I knew ISS must have thought of this
problem).

Hi,

*** UNDOCUMENTED COMMAND. RUN IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. ALWAYS TEST ON DEV
FIRST. ***

- shutdown console

In "RealSecure 6.0 Console" directory

osql -E
use issed
go
exec iss_truncateevents
go
exit

- then restart iss/sqlserver or better to reboot. This should clear the
Event Database.

Regards.
