Hi,

Anwser to the second question: Stop the issdaemon, delete the
current.policy, start the issdaemon.
Connect to the sensor. Now it shows that the sensor is using a default
policy. Apply the new policy again.
This should work.

Subject: Server Sensor 6.5 upgrade

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently an upgrade of real secure server sensors took place on our
network.
The server sensors were upgraded on a number of servers without
encountering any major problems.
However while trying to install the upgrade on the Mailsweeper for
smtp server, the installation failed.
Since this time we have not been able to start the issdaemon service
on the Mailsweeper server.

The error we are receiving when trying to start the issdaemon service
is :
The issdaemon service terminated with service-specific error
4294967295
We were upgrading from version 6.0 to 6.5
After doing a file comparison we have found there is no BlackICE
service installed on the mailsweeper box and a number of the files
(blackd.exe included)have not been upgraded.
Is anyone aware of any issues that relate to this error and / or
installing ISS server sensors on Mailsweeper for SMTP?

Also when ever we launch the console we receive the following error
from the upgraded sensors
"The sensors common policy file was not sucessfully transferred when
the control channel was opened and therefore it is not available to
the application. This is usually due to a problem reading the file
from the sensor after opening the control channel."

The control channel error flag can be cleared and everything operates
ok until the next time the console is launched.

Any ideas why this may be happening?
