Hi,

You can use whatever MSSQL server you want. You can use MSSQL 7 or MSSQL
2000 up to the latest servicpacks.
You can even install the SQL server on a dedicated machine and the consoles
on other less critical machines.

First install the SQL server, then run the RS setup and choose CUSTOM and
only select the eventcollector and asset/enterprise database, this will
create the table schemas needed and install the eventcollector.
Then go to the machine where you want a console(s) and run setup again
choose CUSTOM only select the console service. (if you would see a popup
message asking for database permissions... ignore this click NO).

Use the deployment wizard to configure and have the right pubkeys
distributed.

Sir,
I want to implement IDS Real Secure with 1 workgroup, 1 network sensor and 1
server sensor, but I don't want to use MSDE 2000
I want to use SQL Server, so how to configure in order to merge it to
workgroup manager?
And what kind of SQL Server do I need?
I really need a help for this, Thank you for your help
