Hi, Are people out there using 1. regular expressions to pick out events from txt files? 2. regular expressions to pick out events from event logs? I have done some initial "follow the policy guide menu" testing and found it is not an easy to make it work 100%. e.g. I am able to pick out events from Win2k application log but NOT security log. I can pick out a regular expression from test1.txt, test2.txt, but NOT test3.txt when I specified test*.log. I have a feeling that these mechanisms are not so reliable.
