*Attention* RealSecure Critical Update:

Please go to the ISS Knowledge Base at:
http://www.iss.net/support/knowledgebase/
and reference Answer Number 722 for an update to your ISSED database.

                          ****IMPORTANT****
"RealSecure products using the ISSED database will not
function properly after 7-17-2002 without this patch."

Before you apply patch to a production system, perform a cold backup
up of the database. Guidance provided below.

PREREQUISITES (Published by ISS)

Before you apply this patch:

- locate the MSSQL Server containing the RealSecure 6.x Enterprise Database

- have the password for an administrator account on the MSSQL Server
computer

- identify the name of the Enterprise Database (ISSED by default)

- verify that the MSSQL Server Service is running

- perform a full, cold backup of the Enterprise Database

The information provided by ISS in response to "How do I perform a full, cold
backup of the Enterprise?

The response from ISS is attached.

Before backing up the database you should shutdown any running event
collectors to prevent database corruption. If you are using MSDE as your
SQL server you will need to read the Answer ID 666 knowledgebase article and
follow the instructions for backing up the database using osql. You may
follow this link to read the article as well:

These commands will apply to MS SQL 7 and 2000. If you have the Enterprise
Manager for SQL 7 or 2000 expand the tree structure until you find the ISSED
database.
Right click the ISSED database and go to the "All Tasks" menu.
>From here you may choose the "Backup Database" option.
Another method for backing up the database is to detach the database using
the option from the "All Tasks" menu and make a copy of the MDF file. By
default this file will be located in:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQLServer\MSSQL\Data\ISSED_DATA.MDF.

After making a copy of the file you must reattach the database by right
clicking the "Databases" item in the tree and going to the "All Tasks" menu.
Choose the "Attach Database" option and browse to the MDF file in your Data
directory.
