The problem is there are no absolutely reliable ways of differentiating
telnet from any other socket application. Linux behaves a little differently
if the target port is not the telnet port, thus making the signature unable
to differentiate telnet from a legitimate mail transfer agent.

With some clever use of banner messages, you could probably handle the linux
case.

Any body knows  why the RSKILL form  "telnet abuse"  signatures in
the RS 7.0 don�t works whe the telnet sourse is a LINUX system ?

I proved  from  several WIN  OS and the RSKILL from this signature
works fine , but when I  treated form a linux, I can make the
conection to the port 25 of my SMTP server.

Any help ?
