whoahhh, hey hey hey, all stand and applaud some good sense statements from Cliff Hanger! It is all about the issues you state, and that is where automation that is proven really comes into it's own, it makes it easier and more reliable, if it did'nt we would all be using DOS, there would be no mouse, we would have separate machines to handle spreadsheets as such, Wang, Wordplex etc, would be huge Corporations for word processing and we could all hudlle round the radio on cold winter nights and listen to Bing Crosby --- ahhh those were the days, or were they?? MSP's have a whole different criteria, usually financial based upon a very basic service, as (I have said previously relying on network sensor IDS is like the days of the radio above! The real security copmes from a full picture and that is where ISS are unbeatable with a combined dektop, server, network and in-path solutiuon with fusion correlating alerts and vulnerabilities, I don't see the Dragon Scanner, The Dragon System Scanner, The Dragon Database Scanner, the Dragon Server Sensor, The Dragon Guard, the Dragon Desktop Protector and nowhere even on the horizon the Dragon Site Protector.
