Hi Dawn,
Server Sensor does not modify the Microsoft network drivers, rather use
we standard APIs to read the information that the TCP/IP stack is
passing.

As a result, upgrading a service pack will have not detrimental effect
on Server Sensor, nor have I have witnessed a case where Server Sensor
has had a detrimental effect on the upgrade of a service pack.

If you have further questions, please let me know.
thanks,
John

Subject: [ISSForum] Some doubts about Server Sensor...

Hi All,

I'm looking into deploying a enterprise wide HIDS solution for my
company. We have a server base of more than 100 NT Servers and 50 Unix
Servers. I understand that I could use ISS RealSecure Server Sensor as
my
HIDS on all this servers.

Just a question, at the current rate that Microsoft is coming out
with
new service pack, does that means that I may have a problem when I do a
enterprise update of service pack if the network driver files for the
servers are been updated ?

* I'm having the impression that the Network Shim for the Server Sensor
network monitoring portion did changes to the network driver files.

Regards,
Dawn Lim
