As we go through the torments of the SQL worm, I've had occasion to reinstall MSDE on my Event Collectors, and in the process of installing SP3 for 8.0, realized that the default installation uses an blank SA password on MSDE. Thus my ECs and WorkGroup Managers are running a backend with a blank SA password....not very secure.
Utilizing Enterprise Manager on my ISS database server, I went in and changed the passwords, but ISS ought to fix this issue in a hot hurry...... or advise us to do so. The default installation leaves the environment open.
