Both
tools worked great for me.
Enviroment of RS and Icecap...both seperate MS SQL databases/servers
unpatched.
Scanned with both tools, both said vulnerable all 10
times.
Downloaded the SP3, applied to both SQL, rescanned with both tools 10
times, both are clear...not vulnerable. *shrug*

Subject: [ISSForum] scanslammer toolI just downloaded the scanslammer tool and here is the scenario:
I used the eeye Sapphire slammer scanning tool and found a 3 systems that resulted in "positive" or "vulnerable". I ran this test about 20 times on each of these 3 systems to make sure that the results were consistent and they were.
Nex I get the scanslammer tool. I ran this against the same 3 systems 30 times plus and NOT once did I get any results stating that these systems were "vulnerable".
Anyone from ISS care to comment on potential shortcomings with the ISS scanning tool ?
