Tracey,

I believe that a reinstall is unnecessary. We usually see this behavior when there is
a discontinuity between either what the database blade and the database are expecting
to see or when there is a communication problem between the Console and the sensor. I
would suggest that you first cycle the services several time. Do this first by
stopping the issDaemon service and observing in task manager to see if the issCSF.Exe,
ISCSrv.exe, and all the blades execute a shutdown. If they do, good, restart the
issDaemon and reattempt the scan. If they do not properly shutdown you can then try
to stop the Internet Scanner Controller service and once again monitor the processes
to see if the blades all shut down (ensure also that the issCSF.Exe process is not
present, if it is kill it). If they do, good, attempt to restart the issDaemon
service, which will in turn start the issCSF.Exe process which then starts the ISCSrv
process which then starts all the blades. If all start properly, just to ensure good
communication, stop the issDaemon and ensure all related process properly obey the
shutdown. Then restart the issDaemon and once all related processes have started,
open the console and reattempt your scan.

If this does not succeed, please contact ISS Technical Support before you do anything
like an uninstall. They can help you further on this kind of issue.

Cheers,

Hi,
In order to resolve your problem, you have to reinstall IS7 without the GUI. So, you
will control it with Siteprotector console. We'll have to wait a new XPU to solve the
problem.

7.0 - indefinitely queuing scans

Hello there,

I am going to apologize ahead of time if this is the incorrect place
to ask this question. I checked through the list to see if someone
had already asked this question, but I didn't not see any reference
to it.

I have upgraded to ISS 7 on a WinXP machine, however now whenever I
try to run a scan of any machine on my network, the status window
show the scan as being "queued" and it never actually starts. It
worked perfectly fine with the previous version of ISS and I never
had any problems.

Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Tracey
