Gary, Vinu,

I'm not sure what Jim from ISS Tokyo is referring to.

two points
1.) the subject line of import tool is misleading. It does not import anything. All
the tool does is parses the policy into
an easier to read column format. It will not import a policy into ISS, nor will it
import data into a spreadsheet. That is
a manual cut and paste after the tool does it's parsing.

2.) I have successfully used the tool on my siteprotector policies. The syntax and
physical structure is exactly the same
from 5.0 up to the current SP. The only difference is the header info, version
number, and the policy editor that reads the
policies and allows or dis-allows the use of features that are different between
versions.
You must fully export your SP policies to you local hard drive, but the policy dumper
will parse the file.
Keep in mind the dumper tool does not allow for all information. It gets the bulk of
the settings, but if you
want info on the advanced parameters and ignore / trigger thresholds it lumps that
information into one column which makes
for some manual parsing.

Also if you use this to make short cuts with a text editor when doing massive policy
changes be careful with cut and paste.
7.0 and SiteProtector display some weird characteristics where values that are cut and
pasted get drop and my new filters
are in actually looking at wide open values.

Subject: [ISSForum] Policy Import Tool

Hello,

Does any one have a tool to import ISS sensor policies into an Excel or
Word format file, so that review of the policies can be done easily.

Appreciate your help in advance.

Thanks
Isaac
