Jim,
Are you using the manualupgrader tool from ISS? If not, I'd suggest
downloading and using it. It will copy down all the XPUs, ini's and their
associated policy files, and database updates and put them put them in the
proper subdirectories. Our client has not approved direct connectivity
between SiteProtector and the ISS web site, so we use the manualupgrader on
another system, download the updates when they're available, burn them to
CD, and then load them on the Application Server. Tedious, but it works for
now.
I have not found a way to install the updates manually (but I've not looked into it very much). You may be able unzip the XPU and run the RSSPinstaller.exe with some flags but I've not tried it. You'll still need to download the appropriate ini file, and the policy file and put them in the proper subdirectory. This is why I use the manualupdgrader tool, it simplifies the whole process.

Hello Angelika!
Unfortunately, the online help is even less helpful than the manual. It says
that you are allowed to select the file for the update, but I do not see
anyway to select a file.

Hi Jim,
I found it at the SiteProtector Console "Help" ----> Real Secure SiteProtector Help (F1), and than search in the Index-Tab for XPUs or X-Press Updates.
Hope that works.
regards angelika
btw: in my last mail I talked you the XPU Date field in the "Detail-Window".
It is just the creationdate of the XPU.

Hi All!
In my "Site Protector Strategy Guide" (version 2.0), under "Apply Updates"
(pg. 166) it says "For instructions about how to apply updates, go to the
Site Protector console select More Info -> Real Secure SiteProtector -> User
Proecurers". I find no menu or anything labled "More Info". There is a Help
menu, so I click on "Real Secure SiteProtector", but there is no "User
Proceedures". There is something called "Console Users Reference Guide", but
this does not contain the indicated section "Managing X-Press Updates". This
problem also exists int eh Section "Downloading Updates Manually".
So, the question is, where in the documentation does it describe how to install the updates?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Jim Mohr
