Well, if the automated update via the network isn't workable, you could easily scipt out a batch file and have them uninstall and reinstall from a CD-ROM or downloaded package.
In the directory where RS 3.6 is installed there is a handy-dandy AgentRemove.exe program. Run that and the agent is stripped off the machine. Then have them run a 7.0 agent build. ___________________________________ Andrew Plato, CISSP President/Principal Consultant Anitian Enterprise Security 503-644-5656 Office 503-644-8574 Fax 503-201-0821 Mobile www.anitian.com ___________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: Poppi, Sandro [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: December 07, 2003 10:58 PM To: ISSforum (E-Mail) Subject: [ISSForum] Upgrade path for Real Secure Desktop Protector 3.6 -> 7.0 Hi, I'm looking for some kind of "best practices" on automatically upgrading 1000+ RSDP 3.6 agents to the actual 7.0 version using SiteProtector 1000+ 2.0SP3 without the need of having hands on every notebook. My tests showed that the update is nearly 10 MB, and that's a lot for a dial-up line (most agents are used by travelling users). Did anyone on the list already do something similiar and could you share your experiences with me? I would appreciate any feedback.
