System Scanner is not integrated with Site Protector.  You can install the Visa Scanner module (free of charge and downloadable from ISS) to use a web interface for running policies, etc.  Beware, there is no ACL (Access Control List) for System Scanner, so if you have multiple business unit or customer classes for your System Scanner agents, then anyone can see anyone else’s reports.

You can run multiple System Scanner Scans from the System Scanner Console, but caution for the Unix agents.  Multiple policies against a single Unix agent will not complete.

We are using the CLI to generate reports to a separate server and using ACL’s on the directories in order that users can get their reports.

The System Scanner group manager is free and comes with the System Scanner Console install.  I am not sure if you can install the System Scanner Group Manager separately from the Console, but there is no reason why you cannot install the System Scanner Console on the same box as Site Protector.

Subject: [ISSForum] SiteProtector and System Scanner

Dear All,

As I know I can open an web Interface from SitePortector Console to an System Scanner Agent.

1. How System Scanner sends vulnerability data to SiteProtector and how SiteProtector is aware of it?

2. Can I start multiple System Scanner scans from SiteProtector Console?

3. Can I put System Scanner Group Manager on SP Console machine?

4. Is System Scanner Group Manager free of charge?

Regards

Bojidar
