Greetings once again. I have solved the problem, following Agnes� suggestion, by installing the new X-Press Update Installer (1.8).
I tried visiting the System Scanner update site (https://www.iss.net/update/SystemScanner), but all I got was a blank page. However, I managed to guess the filenames (XPressUpdateInst1_8.xpu and XPressUpdateInst1_8.ini) and download them to my local disk, where I succeeded installing them using my current version of xpressupdate.exe. After installing the new version (1.8), all the updates (8 to 23) ran smoothly. It would be nice if ISS could place, at least, a list of downloadble files contained in that directory (/update/SystemScanner), in order to simplify the download process. Additionally, it still does not seem reasonable that the X-Press Update Installer was not able to update itself from the web. Perhaps it is trying to download a non-existant version - I wasnt able to find 1.9 anywhere.
