Can anyone answer these questions? 1) For a network of approximately 15,000 hosts, how large can I expect the SiteProtector database to get when running Internet Security Scanner *only*. (No IDS.) 2) Is it possible to configure SiteProtector, during the install, to use a remote database rather than the local hard drive? (Or after the install?) 3) What's the largest block of IPs one would want to do discovery scans on? 4) How long should it take to scan a class A network? Class B?
We have had to uninstall SiteProtector because it was filling up the hard drive on a 22GB partition. We're wondering if we can move the database (or just start over from scratch) to a MS SQL cluster that we have, where we have plenty of space. (But we also want to know how big this beast gets.) I'm not looking for sales answers. I want answers from folks in the field who have BTDT.
