Hi,
Some precisions about my situation :
The goal is to prepare a sensor identical to the old one(still in production), so i
can just unplug the old W2K machine and replace it with a new one running a "copy"
ofthe sensor with the same XPU's installed.
So what i did so far :
- install Network Sensor 7.0
- during the install, give master key role to mycomputer_myusername
- selected manual authentication setup, so i copied the keys used in the "old" sensor
to the new sensor.
When i manage the new sensor from the managed assets window, the connexion can be
established, I can also set my console as master control.and i can even install XPU's
from the console.
The only "problem" is that I cannot acquire MasterStatusManager role, which gives me a
lot of error messages("access denied") in my eventviewer. I am afraid this can make
the sensor not work fine.
I searched the knowledgebase and the manuals, but still no clue what's going on.
Is there another way of bringing the new sensor updated without having to push XPU's
from the console one by one ? can i just copy the whole directory from the old sensor ?

In order to migrate the hardware platform of a Network sensor 7.0, I am preparing a
new machine with the same configuration to replace it.
First, I want to know if it possible to manually upgrade de XPU's. If not, i guess I
have to do it through Workgroup Manager(I am using v 6.7) one by one ?
Second, I have problems when i am trying to manage the new sensor from the workgroup
Manager in my lab, I cannot seem to access the role management window. As a matter of
fact, i cannot assign MasterStausManager role to my console, and i am getting error
messages in my eventlog "access denied : xxx_xxx is not in the role
MasterStatusManager".
I installed NS 7.0. where I allowed my console to be key administrator. According to
the doc, it shoul let me assign MasterStatusManager role from it.
Does somebody knows how to fix this ?
