Hmmm, With another caveat: 1204-F can monitor 4 network interfaces to a total of 1GB 4 seperately licensed gigabit network sensors can in theory monitor 4GB Mind you I think Proventia is great. I chucked out all my Proliants in favour of them.
>>> "Howard, Jim(ISS Atlanta)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thursday 06, May, 2004 12:59:12 >>> The A1204 has four RJ45/Copper network connections, which can be 1000M/Gigabit, 100M/Fast, or 10M/Standard Ethernet. The A1204F is comparable, but with Fiber interfaces. If you were seeking a box with both Copper and Fiber interfaces, there is not currently a box like this, so if would like to see one in the future, please send an email to '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' so that our product managers will see the market demand for this configuration. As far as price/performance goes, and hardware cost asside (you'd have to buy or reallocate a server anyway), the A604/1204 can monitor four segments with a single sensor license. An equivalent config with Network Sensors would require four licenses. However the flip side is that currently with the A-series, all segments use the same policy, where as four instances of Network Sensor can each use a different policy.
