I've got RSDP and the firewall running on some client sites. So far no
problems. However, if you have RSDP and have the firewall tuned right,
then the Windows firewall is redundant. 

I did notice that XP isn't real good about picking AV compliance, but
neither is RSDP. But that's another story.
