Answer: I ran into this before. For security reasons you need to do this for every user that needs to use the Internet Scanner local console.
Please follow the steps below from the local Internet Scanner system to resolve the error message "ADF event channel could not be opened." 1.) Close the Internet Scanner console. 2.) Stop the issDaemon service and verify the Internet Scanner Controller service is stopped as well. 3.) Go to C:\Program Files\ISS\ScannerConsole\Tools\KeyManagement and double click setup.exe 4) Create Cryptographic keys 5) Choose both types of keys 6) Only use the Microsoft Enhanced RSA 1024 bit crypto provider, please remove any others. 7) If asked to archive, there is no need to. 8) Once finished with the KeyManagement wizard, please go to C:\Program Files\ISS\RealSecure 6.5 Console\keys\RSA\ and copy all files (they will look like this rs_con_MACHINENAME_USERNAME_1024.Pubkey) to C:\Program Files\ISS\issSensors\scanner _1\Keys\RSA (overwrite existing files). 9) Restart the issDaemon service and verify that the Internet Scanner Controller Service starts. 10.) Once the issDaemon and "Internet Scanner Controller" services have started, open the Internet Scanner console and look for any error messages . -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Gonzalez, Jesus M Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 1:28 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ISSForum] ISS 7.0 Scanner ADF Event Messages ? What is the meaning of the messages listed below? The messages started after a user was removed from the system where the ISS scanner tool is installed. ADF event channel could not be opened Open Control Channel Response Received with status 2148073487 We've tried creating other ADF files but no change. Unable to scan. It may be that the ISS tool was installed under the account that was deleted. If so, is reinstalling the sensor under the administrator id the only fix?
