Hi everyone,

currently we are looking into redesigning out infrastructure. The goal is to
create a core, consisting of switchfabrics, which will be able to host
blades running Firewall, IPS, Loadbalancing, VPn features etc.

Most of know of che Cisco 6000 Catalyst series and the blades that can be
placed. However, since we have a lot of experience with Checkpoint
firewalls, we want to use the VSX version to virtualize our Firewalls. For
IPS we are using the ISS PRoventia products. As far as I understand, it was
possible to use a Crosbeam X series with Checkpoint firewall on it, and use
a blade running ISS on it. However, I cannot find the information for this.
The onyl thing I can find is useing a blade running Sourcefire IPS.

So, the question is: Is ISS on a blade on Crossbeam still supported and a
valid solution for now and the future?

thank you for any and all answers.

regards,

Richard
