Michael Ho reopened IMPALA-4889:

Closed this too soon. Turns out that there are still some Thrift structures
around even after converting some RPCs to use KRPC. (e.g. HMS struct in Catalog
service, RuntimeProfile). In which case, we just serialize the Thrift structs
and then send them as sidecar as suggested.
