Michael Andre Pearce (IG) commented on ARTEMIS-994:
---------------------------------------------------

[~jbertram] We have a test rig setup, as stated I've hit one issue we need to
work out whats going on (see stack trace), so if anyone knows what the cause of
this is, I'm all ears. I was surprised as normally its a straight swap in swap
out of the Netty class's.

Once done we can run load tests, I'm happy to share the results we get with NIO
vs EPOLL.

> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ARTEMIS-994
> Project: ActiveMQ Artemis
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Components: Broker
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0, 1.5.3
> Reporter: Michael Andre Pearce (IG)
>
> Netty has support for native epoll, this is available only on linux systems.
> This is more performant.
> This is inline with supporting asyncio with libaio using such native feature
> to bring perfomance benefits to artemis.
