Martyn Taylor commented on ARTEMIS-550:
---------------------------------------

[~graben]

Are you saying that it is not possible to implement these things using the new
address model? I agree that the existing naming conventions i.e. using "::" is
different to ActiveMQ 5.x, and there are gaps wrt how things are configured.
For example using prefixing. The JIRA I added above is intended to track gap
in the naming schema, like for example using prefixes instead of FQQN.

What I don't want to do, is just clone the way ActiveMQ 5.x does virtual
topics, as it doesn't fit in well with the Artemis architecture. Instead, I
plan on providing generic solutions for things like address aliasing that solve
part of the problem, whilst being an overall useful feature for other use cases.

> Artemis should support virtual topic consumers as alternative to topic
> subscriptions as ActiveMQ itself does.
