Fredrik Jonson commented on ARTEMIS-1270:
-----------------------------------------
I find that it is a great feature that the Artemis server distribution doesn't
include a advanced web console today. Not having a web console bundled reduces
the distribution size, configuration and build complexity, limits the
dependencies, reduces vulnerability exposure and limits the number of security
updates required. I understand that a web console like Hawtio brings
convenience and functionality to Artemis, and I understand that it can be
attractive to new users.
Would it be possible to offer two separate artifacts for the binary server
distribution: One for just the Artemis Server binary as it is shipped today,
and one that bundles both Artemis Server and the customized HawtIO console?
I apologize if I've missed any relevant previous discussion about this on the
mailing lists, I haven't had time to follow Artemis development closely for
some time.
