[~jbonofre] - I don't think it's a very good idea to start changing stuff like
this at the last minute. I'm ok with bug fixes but for 5.16.0 we need to just
freeze new features and non-essential changes at this point as it's time for it
to go out and trying to squeeze in last second changes like replacing the
entire default logging library seems like a really bad idea. This and any
other non-essential changes should really be moved to 5.17.0 at this point so
5.16.0 can finally be released
