Matt Pavlovich edited comment on AMQ-8149 at 2/18/21, 12:34 AM:
----------------------------------------------------------------

Supporting a wide range of OS and JDK combinations means cutting releases for
CVE's when the underlying layers have issues. I don't think its practical to
support n number of containers initially. I suggest we release a single
container and then have a follow-on task of supporting a wider range of
container+jdk options once we get the release and support process solved.

Additionally, JDK releases have ramped up, and there will be requests to
release ActiveMQ docker images for JDK patches. Tightly coupling ActiveMQ
releases to OS and JDK is not something that is done currently.

> Affects Versions: 5.17.0

> Priority: Major
>
> Create an Apache ActiveMQ docker image
> Ideas:
> [ ] jib or jkube mvn plugin
> [ ] Create a general container that supports most use cases (enable all
> protocols on default ports, etc)
> [ ] Provide artifacts for users to build customized containers
> Tasks:
> [Pending] Creation of Docker repository for ActiveMQ INFRA-21430
> [ ] Add activemq-docker module to 5.17.x
> [ ] Add dockerhub deployment to release process
